If you missed the excitement on Twitter, I got my first tattoo a couple weeks ago!
The inspiration behind my tattoo came a few years ago when I was chatting about tattoos with some friends and what we might get if we ever took the plunge. I'd always kind of wanted one, but it was important to me to wait until I had an idea that I knew I would never tire of and that would never lose its meaning. One of my friends suggested getting a tattoo to celebrate my first book if/when I finally got published.
So that's what I did!
My tattoo was OFFICIALLY REVEALED in this interview with Danny Marks (@DannyMarksYA on Twitter) of the YA Rebels over the weekend. It was great fun, despite the poor lighting and echoey noises from the next-door cafe.

As the initial idea was to get a tattoo of a book upon my first publication, I determined to get a stack of four books instead, one for each of the Lunar Chronicles.
The top, open book is for "all the books still to come."
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
(Okay, actually it just looked incomplete with only three books stacked below.)
Anyone out there have any geeky, book-loving tattoo stories to share?

I love the meaning~ And, would you know, I especially love the "all the books still to come". I'm sure that's one thing that will definitely come true in your future! <3

And of course, I loooooooooooove your tattoo! I love all the meaning behind it - I hate hearing about people who are all excited because they spontaneously get a tattoo and think they're awesome. No, just no. You have to think reeeeally hard about it and plan for the future. I got mine on my 18th to celebrate finally entering the age where I would learn to stand on my own two feet (lol and yet had nothing to do with the placement on the ankle) and the word just because I was all fandomy about my life, lol. I explain it better her ehttp://sailorem.livejournal.com/192
And yes, Danny Marks is HILARIOUS, and his book (Velveteen, which comes out this fall), sounds incredibly eerie. *shivers*
Love, Carina
Thank you so much for writing this book! X
I do, however, want stockings with cyborg parts on them - how cool would that be?
So glad you enjoyed the book!
I'm still tempted by the thought of getting "It is a truth universally acknowledged... etc." twirling around my wrist, but am just not sure. Plus there's the fact that my mum would no doubt kill me (despite being 24 and therefore allowed to do these kinds of things, lol).
