Welcome Read-a-Thonners and congratulations for lasting this long! Only a couple more hours to go. We can do it!
I'm Alicia Blade, an aspiring YA novelist. As both a writer and reader, I appreciate the value of a really great cliffhanger, which is what inspired...
THE CLIFFHANGER CHALLENGE
The challenge is to post in your blog the best cliffhanger you've come across in your reading marathon so far.
You know, the kind of cliffhanger that ups the stakes, ratchets the action, asks a life-changing question, hints at a mystery just about to be solved...
The kind of cliffhanger that, even if it were the very end of Hour 24, you'd keep reading just to find out what happens next.
Post to your blog a couple of sentences or paragraphs (whatever it takes to convey its uber cliffhanger-ness), along with the book's title and author, and comment here with a link to your post.
I will choose my personal favorite based on the following criterion: which cliffhanger makes ME want to run out and read the book right away?
The winner will receive a $25 Barnes & Noble OR Amazon giftcard. This challenge will last for two hours, taking us through to the end of the read-a-thon!
I can't wait to read them. Good luck, both with the challenge and with the remainder of your reading!
This challenge is closed. The winner is Fiction State of Mind for their cliffhanger ending of Glass Houses by Rachel Caine - and it is a screamer! Really, it should be illegal for authors to end books like that!
Congrats to the winner, and thanks for all of your entries. It was a tough decision!

What does this mean, you ask? Looks like I'm bypassing on this challenge during the Read-a-Thon, but I promise to get back to you on it after, when I'm in the presence of my - albeit a bit - larger-than-now library. ;) Haha, sorry! >.<

"[...]lifted her snow cone in mocking salute, and I knew that whatever she planned to dish out, I could take it. [....] I inclined my head to show I'd accepted her challenge. Bring it on, Ice Queen." ~ 'The Cinderella Society' by Kay Cassidy
I really hope there is a sequel to this book. GIANT cliffhanger! Thanks for the challenge!!
